This week the baby will go through many changes. The baby’s skeleton will begin to change from soft cartilage to bone. The umbilical cord is starting grow stronger and thicker. The baby can now move its joints and is busy moving all around in my tummy! The baby weighs about five ounces this week and is about 5 inches long. If you compared the size of a baby to a vegetable it would be about the size of a turnip.

I have not posted in a few days because I have not been feeling so good again which is definately disappointing but the good news is that I will find out the sex of the baby in three more days! I hope the baby cooperates. I hear stories of people having an ultrasound to find out the sex and the baby will not uncross its legs to see. This is what my baby did during our last ultrasound. I think it may have been sleeping. They say drinking a coke can help with this so I will definitely be sure to do that before I go to the doctor next Wednesday and I will post the verdict as soon as I have one!:)

Week 17 of my pregnancy officially began yesterday! I am feeling good and I feel like the weeks are flying by. I thought that 40 weeks of pregnancy sounded like a long time but time flies by very quickly when you are feeling better and I know that December will be here before I know it!

During this week many people will start to feel their baby move. I have not felt my baby move yet. The ultrasound technician did warn me about this at my last appointment because she said that with this pregnancy I had an anterior placenta meaning that I have more padding in the front and it may take me longer to feel the baby move. She told me I may not feel the baby move until the around the 18th or 20th week. I am glad that she warned me of this I many have gotten worried otherwise. But, I guess this could be a blessing because I may sleep better until then.

This week the baby is about 4 ½ inches long and compared to a vegetable that is about the size of an avocado. I am beginning to show and my clothes are definitely beginning to get tighter. The baby is supposed to double in size in the next couple of weeks so my tummy will just start to get bigger. So that means shopping for maternity clothes for me. I love shopping so I won’t complain about that.
