This week the baby will go through many changes. The baby’s skeleton will begin to change from soft cartilage to bone. The umbilical cord is starting grow stronger and thicker. The baby can now move its joints and is busy moving all around in my tummy! The baby weighs about five ounces this week and is about 5 inches long. If you compared the size of a baby to a vegetable it would be about the size of a turnip.

I have not posted in a few days because I have not been feeling so good again which is definately disappointing but the good news is that I will find out the sex of the baby in three more days! I hope the baby cooperates. I hear stories of people having an ultrasound to find out the sex and the baby will not uncross its legs to see. This is what my baby did during our last ultrasound. I think it may have been sleeping. They say drinking a coke can help with this so I will definitely be sure to do that before I go to the doctor next Wednesday and I will post the verdict as soon as I have one!:)

Week 17 of my pregnancy officially began yesterday! I am feeling good and I feel like the weeks are flying by. I thought that 40 weeks of pregnancy sounded like a long time but time flies by very quickly when you are feeling better and I know that December will be here before I know it!

During this week many people will start to feel their baby move. I have not felt my baby move yet. The ultrasound technician did warn me about this at my last appointment because she said that with this pregnancy I had an anterior placenta meaning that I have more padding in the front and it may take me longer to feel the baby move. She told me I may not feel the baby move until the around the 18th or 20th week. I am glad that she warned me of this I many have gotten worried otherwise. But, I guess this could be a blessing because I may sleep better until then.

This week the baby is about 4 ½ inches long and compared to a vegetable that is about the size of an avocado. I am beginning to show and my clothes are definitely beginning to get tighter. The baby is supposed to double in size in the next couple of weeks so my tummy will just start to get bigger. So that means shopping for maternity clothes for me. I love shopping so I won’t complain about that.

Waving

Look at those five little fingers!:)

Ultrasound Pic during Week 13

Long legs and feet!
This week I am on Week 16 of pregnancy and have finally begun to feel more like myself this week. I am counting down the days to finding out the sex of the baby. I have been able to get out and do some shopping to get some ideas for the room. However, I am waiting until we find out the sex to purchase the pink or the blue. I just really hope to get most of the nursery ideas completed before going back to school in August because the first few months of school are always busy and after that I will only have another month or two before the baby comes!

This week the baby still cannot open it eyes however it can sense light. If I were to shine a flash light on my tummy the baby would probably move away from the light. If I had an ultrasound this week the sex of the baby may be able to be determined but it may be hard. We will have to continue to be patient and I will find out what our baby is on July 21!

Saturday, July 3, 2010

This week the baby is 4 inches long and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces. If you were to compare the baby’s size to a fruit it would be about the size of an apple. The baby’s legs will grow longer than the baby’s arms this week and the baby can move all of its joints and limbs.

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

I am officially on my 15th week of pregnancy! My appetite is finally starting to increase and I am really starting to feel better his week. These days I have noticed that I am quite exhausted by the afternoon. I have finally started to get a small baby bump this week and started to gain some weight. I hope things continue to get better!

Thursday, June 24, 2010

By the end of this week the baby’s arms with grow and be in proportion with the rest of its body. The legs will continue to grow and the ultrasound tech said my baby had long legs last week. The baby is becoming more active and moving its legs and feet around more even though I can’t feel it yet. I look forward to being able to feel the baby moving around in there.

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

This week the baby is the about three and a half inches. If you were to compare the size of the baby to a fruit it would be about the size of a lemon. The baby is now weighing about one and a half ounces. The baby will start to make some facial expressions this week and may be able to suck its thumb.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

I am now officially in my second trimester! Yay! I am 14 weeks and just waiting for a baby bump to appear. I have been feeling better but I still have my moments. I guess that will just continue on throughout my pregnancy. I am not going to be the person that does not get sick while she is pregnant. There are things that I will just have to get used to for the next six months. But I know that it will all be worth it when the baby gets here in December!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Each week there are new changes going on with the baby. This week the size of the baby is compared to the size of a baby to a medium shrimp and the baby is about three inches long. The size of the baby's body is catching up with its head. The baby is starting to look more proportionate. The baby weighs nearly one ounce. As of this week the baby has fingerprints.

I went to the doctor yesterday and we got to have another ultrasound! This time the baby looks like a real baby. We were able to see the arms, legs, hands and feet! It was so sweet. I just love getting to see the baby. The ultrasound tech said the baby looked healthy and great! I will be going back to doctor on July 21st to find out the sex of the baby. My husband and I can't wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl! I will keep you all posted on that and I will post new ultrasound pics of Baby Betbeze soon.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I'm very excited to be on Week 13 today! I have been feeling better this week so I'm praying that will continue! I am looking forward to going to the doctor tomorrow. I'm not sure what they will be doing during this appointment. I know that there will be no ultrasound but I am hoping that I will be able to talk to the doctor about getting a date set so that we can find out the sex of the baby! That I am very excited about. So I will post again tomorrow with updates.

Friday, June 11, 2010

As of today I am 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am still feeling some sickness, some days are better than others. Hopefully that will continue to improve. I am hoping that I will start to get a little baby bump soon. I guess that would make me feel more like I am pregnant because right now I just feel like I am sick all the time. It should be coming soon. I am looking forward to the upcoming weeks.

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Since I am 12 weeks pregnant this week the baby is still very small, approximately two inches long. Compared to fruit they say the baby is about the size of a lime. This week the baby will begin to develop reflexes. The brain is forming very quickly during this time. The baby is moving all around inside my stomach, I just can't feel it yet. After this week I will officially be in my second trimester!

Week 12

As of yesterday I am 12 weeks pregnant! I have been very sick throughout this first trimester and many people have told me that it should get better after the first trimester. I hope that this is true! I have started to feel better as of the end of last week and into this week. Instead of feeling nausea throughout the entire day it is now usually only for a short time in the morning or in the evening. That I can handle! Hopefully I will continue to feel better.

Finding Out

Hi! My name is Ansley Betbeze and I started this blog so that I could share the progress of my pregnancy with others and I think that it will be great to have to help me remember the stages of pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test at the end of April because I had been feeling very sick and it came back positive. I was finally able to see my doctor on May 18th and they told me that I was nine weeks pregnant and they performed the first ultrasound which I posted a picture of below! The due date for Baby Betbeze is December 20th and we are very excited. I am currently 11 weeks and 4 days!
